To encourage myself to more fully read a book, rather than consume it and then move on to the next one, I started to write a few notes about them; I like this one; wasn’t sure about that one; what’s up with James Ellroy?

Over time, I thought some of these notes might be worth sharing; as such, some of these reviews are backdated and are based on re-reads.

Note: with non-fiction, I am generally not in a position to determine someone’s analysis of an event/time/person as an expert. My review is more likely to be contingent on how well it is written and reasoned, rather than an analytical disagreement. Where two titles disagree with each other, I’ll try to compare and contrast.
